UN Sets 15-Month Deadline for Establishment of Palestinian State
The UN conference in New York establishes a 15-month deadline for the creation of a Palestinian state. The final statement, based on a seven-page declaration, reaffirms the commitment to a two-state solution as the only way to meet the interests of both sides.
The document condemns the Hamas invasion of southern Israel in October 2023, calls for the release of hostages, and demands the complete disarmament of Hamas, transferring control to the Palestinian security forces.
