Enhanced Supervision of Taxi Drivers at Zvartnots Airport

The State Inspection Body for Urban Development, Technical, and Fire Safety conducted enhanced supervision of taxi transportation providers at Zvartnots Airport in collaboration with patrol units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia on July 30, 2025.

As a result of continuous monitoring by specialists from the inspection body’s transport safety department in Yerevan, four vehicles were identified that were providing transportation services without the necessary license.

Reports have been filed against all vehicles found to be in violation during the supervision process. The inspection body reminds that according to Article 8 of the Law on Automobile Transport in Armenia, irregular passenger transportation by individuals using light passenger cars is allowed only through an electronic platform for transportation services.

This applies to light passenger vehicles that are not equipped as taxis, while those that are equipped and identified with a taxi sign are also subject to licensing.

It should be noted that individual taxi drivers who are self-employed are exempt from all taxes and duties after obtaining a license.
