Cognac Export Issues Significantly Resolved, Papoyan

The Minister of Economy of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan, stated on Facebook: “As you know, during our visit to Georgia, we agreed to establish a working group composed of representatives from the Ministries of Economy of Armenia and Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Georgia to address the issues arising during the export of Armenian cognac (brandy). As a result of the daily work of the working group, I can now confirm that the issues related to cognac export have been significantly resolved.

For instance, yesterday our Georgian partners provided us with the latest data, indicating that throughout the day, 27 trucks loaded with bottled cognac were able to leave the Georgian Gazi customs checkpoint. One more truck did not pass the examination.

This statistic further proves that the overwhelming majority of bottled cognac exported from Armenia (in this case, more than 96%) meets all quality standards and corresponds to the established requirements for cognac. I would like to thank our cognac producers for their patience, understanding, and for offering high-quality products. Let’s get to work.”
