Anahit Manasyan Files Petition to the Constitutional Court
The Human Rights Defender has submitted a petition to the Constitutional Court regarding the compliance of a decision made by the Government of the Republic of Armenia with the Constitution, particularly concerning provisions that impose an absolute ban on appointing individuals with complete, stable deafness or profound hearing impairment in both ears, as well as individuals who are blind in both eyes (binocular blindness) to the position of judge.
During the examination of this petition, the Constitutional Court received an amicus brief from one of the non-governmental organizations actively operating in this field. Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan considers the involvement of partner civil society organizations and collaboration with them to be crucial.
