What the Current Authorities Failed to Achieve: Samvel Karapetyan Sends a Letter
Samvel Karapetyan's brother, Narek Karapetyan, posted on Facebook: “Samvel Karapetyan's New Letter: WHAT THE CURRENT AUTHORITIES FAILED TO ACHIEVE
They failed to suppress the will of the Armenian people. They failed to discourage our youth. Having endured wars, political persecution, hardships, and insecurity, they remain resilient and talented, thinking about the future of our Armenia and living for it.
They failed to silence journalists and free speech. The chain of informational terror, lies, and manipulation is breaking, and through the genuine efforts of real journalists, the truth is becoming accessible to our society.
They failed to break our compatriots held in Baku's prisons, who, having heroically fought for many years, deserve exceptional respect. Even in prison, they live on the brink of death. Nevertheless, they will always elevate their and our honor – befitting a true Armenian man.
They failed to break our faith in the mission of our Church. The more they persecute the clergy, the more Armenian people seek blessings from them. The more attacks on our Church, the more united our people become around our Mother See.
In the failures of this small acting group lies our future. Our fundamentally new political force, our newly forming team, will particularly be based on our nation’s best qualities, individuals carrying the firm will of the people, and especially on the youth.
We are about to open a new, long-awaited, and dreamed-of page in our history – in our own way.”
