Trump: Funds for Wildfire Victims Have Disappeared
U.S. President Donald Trump has labeled the FireAid initiative aimed at assisting victims of wildfires in California as a fraudulent scheme, claiming that $100 million raised for the cause has vanished.
“FireAid is a total disaster. It seems this is yet another fraud scheme inspired by the Democrats. $100 million is missing,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social account.
In January, wildfires in Southern California, particularly in the Los Angeles area, resulted in the deaths of over 30 people and the destruction of approximately 18,000 structures. Various organizations, including those affiliated with the Democratic Party, have announced fundraising efforts to help victims of the fires or those who lost property.
According to meteorologists, the rapid spread of the fires in California in January was caused by dry and extremely windy weather.
