“This is the issue that Armenia needs to resolve,” said Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, commenting on the potential oversight by an American company of part of the so-called Zangezur corridor.

“Whether they collaborate with American companies or not is their business. In the meantime, we are busy with our own. We are expanding transportation links and establishing connections with all our neighbors—Georgia, Iran, and Russia. Overall, such connections will benefit the entire region. If Armenia is ready, we would like to jointly develop the Transcaucasian transportation corridor,” emphasized Hajiyev in an interview with Berliner Zeitung.
