Putin's Assistant Threatens Nuclear Strikes
Russian nuclear submarines can "cool off any hot heads" in the West, stated Nikolai Patrushev, assistant to the President of Russia.
"I would like to remind them that our naval strategic nuclear forces are constantly on combat patrol, ready to strike designated targets. Any military aggression against the Kaliningrad region will be met with an immediate and crushing response, using all the forces and means of Russia, as stipulated by the military doctrine and the principles of state policy in the field of nuclear deterrence," he said, highlighting the "powerful potential of the weapons."
Patrushev made this statement against the backdrop of President Putin's visit to the Arkhangelsk region. The President of Russia participated in the flag-raising ceremony aboard the "Prince Pozharsky" cruiser, marking the submarine's acceptance into the fleet.
