Musk Disrupted Ukrainian Counteroffensive: Reuters
At the end of September 2022, Elon Musk ordered senior engineers at SpaceX's California office to disable the Starlink satellite communication system in the Kherson region. This was reported by Reuters.
The disconnection of satellite communication led to the shutdown of drones that monitored the positions of Russian troops, and artillery units that relied on Starlink for fire adjustment lost the capability to deliver precise strikes. This prevented the Ukrainian army from encircling Russian forces in the Berislav area, northeast of Kherson.
Agency sources claim that Musk took such a step fearing that a successful Ukrainian offensive might provoke a nuclear response from Russia.
