Israel and Syria Hold High-Level Meeting After 25 Years

Israel and Syria's ministers have held a high-level meeting for the first time in 25 years. This was reported by Axios.

The meeting took place in Paris and lasted four hours, facilitated by U.S. President Donald Trump's special representative, Tom Barak.

Israel was represented by Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer, while Syria was represented by Foreign Minister Assad al-Shayban.

The Israeli government has expressed hope that, in addition to border security issues, the summit in France will lead to an increase in Syria's willingness to engage diplomatically with Israel.
