The US Calls Europe to Economic Warfare

The US Secretary of the Treasury, Bessent, has urged European countries to join American secondary sanctions against Russia if Washington decides to implement them.

“I am calling on our European allies, who have previously voiced their intentions, to follow us,” he stated.

In this context, “secondary sanctions” refer to tariff measures against countries and companies that purchase Russian energy resources (oil, gas, coal), either directly or through schemes that evade sanctions.
