Iran and the 'E3' Agree to Resume Nuclear Program Talks

Iran and the European trio (United Kingdom, France, and Germany) have agreed to resume negotiations regarding the nuclear program, Tasnim agency reports, citing its sources.

The timing and location for the talks are still under discussion, and no decision has been made yet on which country will host the upcoming negotiations. It has been reported that the next round of talks will take place at the level of deputy foreign ministers from Iran, the UK, France, and Germany.

This week, it was revealed that the heads of the foreign policy departments of the 'E3' agreed to restore UN sanctions mechanisms against Iran if it does not reach a nuclear agreement with them by the end of August. French Foreign Minister Jean Noël Barré has stated that Tehran has violated the terms of the 2015 nuclear agreement, thus Paris and the other European countries have full rights to reinstate the embargo on weapons, nuclear equipment, and banking services that was lifted against the Islamic Republic ten years ago.
