Fire in Abovyan: Residents Evacuated
On July 19, at 09:56, the crisis management center of the Kotayk regional rescue department received a notification that a fire had erupted in one of the apartments on the 9th floor of a building in the 4th microdistrict of Abovyan city.
Two firefighting teams and one fire truck were dispatched from the Ministry of Emergency Situations to the scene.
It was determined that the fire had started in the electric meter panel on the 9th floor, resulting in smoke filling the apartments on that floor.
Rescuers opened the doors of two apartments and evacuated eight citizens. Emergency medical personnel provided first aid on site, and there was no need for hospitalization.
Another 15 residents were evacuated from other floors of the building.
The fire was contained by 10:41 AM and extinguished by 11:05 AM. The electric meter panel, a utility room filled with household items, and the doors of two apartments were burned. Firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to other apartments.
