High Fire Hazard Situation, Strictly Adhere to Safety Rules: Ministry of Emergency Situations
On July 13, the Emergency Situations Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the crisis management centers of the Yerevan and Kotayk regional rescue departments received alerts regarding fires in grassy areas. The fires were recorded both in Yerevan and in the surrounding areas, specifically on the 18th kilometer of the Yerevan-Sevan highway, in the administrative territories of the villages of Akunk and Arzni in Kotayk Province.
The fire rescue teams promptly responded to all alerts, immediately undertaking extensive firefighting operations. The firefighting forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Yerevan and Kotayk regional rescue departments were involved in the firefighting efforts, and thanks to their coordinated and effective actions, it was possible to isolate and completely extinguish the fire hotspots in a short period of time.
Thanks to the firefighters' actions, the spread of the fires to adjacent areas, including residential areas and forested sections, was prevented.
Given the high fire hazard situation in the country, the Emergency Situations Rescue Service once again urges the public to be vigilant, strictly adhere to fire safety rules, and avoid any use of fire in open areas, especially in forested areas and recreational zones.
