Editor of Turkish Magazine Arrested Over Cartoon of Prophet Muhammad

The editor-in-chief of the Turkish satirical magazine Leman, Aslan Özdemir, has been arrested upon returning to Turkey from France. This information was reported by RIA Novosti.

The arrest is connected to the publication of a cartoon in the magazine, which many have interpreted as a caricature of the Prophet Muhammad. An investigation against the Leman editorial team began in late June, and at the beginning of July, four employees of the publication were detained. Protests occurred outside the magazine's headquarters, resulting in unrest.

The publication has sparked outrage among believers on social media.

The Leman editorial staff denies the accusations, asserting that the person depicted in the illustration named Muhammad has no relation to the Prophet Muhammad.
