Zaruhi Postanjyan Fined for Live Broadcasting a Hearing on the Mother of Three's Detention

Lawyer Zaruhi Postanjyan has been fined for live broadcasting a hearing regarding the detention of a mother of three. This has been reported by Radar Armenia.

It is noteworthy that Zaruhi Postanjyan published a video on her Facebook page today, showing a young woman crying upon learning of the detention order. Postanjyan mentioned during the live broadcast that the woman has three children, the youngest of whom is 8 months old. Postanjyan stated that she was interrogated as a witness and subsequently became a defendant herself. She was detained for violating the prohibition measure due to the absence of a necessary permit and is charged with assisting illegal migration.

“The court received a request regarding two video recordings posted by Zaruhi Postanjyan on her Facebook page, to which they responded that Postanjyan had requested but did not receive permission for filming and broadcasting. Postanjyan had concealed the fact of the broadcast. The judge fined Postanjyan 80,000 drams and prohibited the broadcast. Immediately after the hearing ended, Postanjyan resumed the live broadcast without the appropriate permission,” the statement from the court indicated.

Regarding the prohibition measure, the court reported that the initial defendant, L. Harutyunyan, had refused to attend court sessions, rejected public defense, and did not comply with the court’s order for detention, as well as failed to follow the house arrest measures imposed on her.

Earlier, it was reported that the mother of three had been detained for 3 months.
