Ukraine Has Received Over $18.5 Billion from Frozen Russian Assets Since the Start of the Year, Shmyhal Says
Ukraine has received one billion euros from the European Union through profits generated from frozen Russian assets. This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal.
"Ukraine has received one billion euros from the EU through profits generated from frozen Russian assets," Shmyhal wrote on his Telegram channel. This assistance has become possible through the joint initiative of Ukraine and the G7 countries, known as ERA.
The Prime Minister emphasized that since the beginning of 2025, Ukraine has already received over $18.5 billion accumulated from frozen Russian funds. These funds are aimed at ensuring the country’s stability, as well as the rapid restoration of infrastructure damaged by military operations.
Shmyhal expressed gratitude to European partners for their solidarity and trust towards Ukraine. He noted that the ERA initiative is already yielding tangible results, and European countries continue to support Kyiv under the harsh conditions of the military conflict.
In preparation for the Ukraine Recovery URC-2025 conference, the Ukrainian side calls on international partners to develop and adopt legal instruments for the complete confiscation of all Russian assets abroad.
