Everything is Clear with the Acting Prime Minister: Arman Tatoyan

Former Armenian Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan wrote on his Facebook page: "In reality, everything is clear with the acting Prime Minister, the leader of the ruling My Step Alliance. In pursuit of his power, he exceeds the limits of his authority, unlawfully intervenes in or appropriates the powers of law enforcement agencies, which are exclusive to them. That is, these powers are reserved strictly for those agencies, and what the Prime Minister does is prohibited.

Law enforcement agencies should not allow the ruling party to turn them into tools for the protection of its interests through actions that undermine statehood," the publication states.

"This is how the foundations of a rule-of-law state are being destroyed, and there are no checks and balances functioning—mechanisms of a democratic state. It turns out that everyone, including independent bodies from the government, serves one person and one party. Regardless of any investigative or prosecutorial action that may take place in the Mother See, the acting Prime Minister, through his unlawful directives, already stamps these actions with the seal of illegality. These are proof that a party dictatorship and personal autocracy have been established in the country," the publication concluded.
