After Strikes on Iran's Nuclear Facilities, IAEA's Credibility is in Question - Russian Foreign Ministry
The Russian Foreign Minister stated that the leadership of the IAEA must take responsibility for its assessments, which were published just days before the strikes on Iran.
The IAEA should provide guarantees to Tehran that it will not attempt to politicize the situation surrounding Iran's nuclear program in the future, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced.
“Now we are confident. The secretariat must provide some guarantees that from now on it will be strictly guided by the powers it is endowed with and will not try to insert any plots that could later be used for political purposes, to promote the interests of any of the members,” Lavrov told reporters.
Earlier, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reiterated that Tehran has no intention of developing nuclear weapons, stating that these are merely accusations coming from Israel. He noted that he sees no issues with resuming negotiations with the United States.
After the strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities, the credibility of the IAEA is in question, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
