Russia May Attack a NATO European Country If China Uses Force Against Taiwan

“The Russians are currently producing three times more ammunition in three months than all NATO members combined do in a year,” said NATO Secretary General Mark Ruteen.

“If China decides to use force against Taiwan, Chinese leader Xi Jinping may ask Russian President Vladimir Putin to divert European attention by launching an attack on NATO territory.” This was reported by Dolce Welle.

According to Ruteen, the likelihood of such a scenario is increasing, and two steps are necessary to deter Beijing and Moscow. One of these is related to strengthening the alliance, “so that the Russians never attack,” DW reports.

As a second measure, Ruteen mentioned joint work in the field of defense industry and innovation with the Indo-Pacific region.

Ruuteen considers that NATO faces a “huge geopolitical challenge,” primarily from Russia.
