Erdogan Again Constructs Illusions Around the Zangezur Corridor
Iranian media outlets are responding to the statements made by Turkey's president. In particular, he stated that the "opening of the Zangezur corridor will also contribute to the strategic development of the Middle Corridor. Turkish goods will reach Central Asia and China more quickly via the Caspian Sea, while goods from Europe to China will begin to pass through Turkey." As reported by Report, this was said by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a statement to reporters aboard his plane after returning from Azerbaijan.
The Iranian Sepah Pasdaran Telegram channel writes: "Following Erdogan's visit to Baku, he has once again started to construct illusions around the so-called Zangezur corridor. However, he must clearly understand: if he relies on any promises made by Mr. Pezeshkian and intends to act accordingly, he is gravely mistaken. This issue transcends the authorities of private or state figures. It is directly linked to Iran's supreme national interests and falls within the exclusive jurisdiction of the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. The Iranian people and their leadership have already given negotiation opportunities with the West, and they remember well what this has led to. Today, there is no place in the Islamic Republic for naivety or diplomatic experiments. The final decision belongs to the Leader. And no external pressure—political, military, or economic—will affect Iran's unwavering will. This is a matter of national dignity and the strategic depth of the state."
