US Staff Prohibited from Using Meta's WhatsApp

All staff members of the US House of Representatives have been prohibited from using Meta's WhatsApp, Reuters reports. The US Cybersecurity Agency has labeled the messaging app as a "threat to users" due to a lack of transparency regarding user data protection, absence of data encryption, and potential security risks associated with its use.

Meta expressed its disagreement with the decision, assuring that the WhatsApp platform provides a higher level of security compared to all other approved services.
