Strike Launched on Fuel Enrichment Facility in Natanz
The Director General of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, has assessed the repercussions of the strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities. According to him, buildings associated with the uranium conversion process at the Isfahan nuclear site have been damaged. Furthermore, it is evident that the entrances to tunnels used for storing enriched materials have also been targeted.
A strike has also occurred at the fuel enrichment facility in Natanz, Grossi added, while the U.S. has confirmed the use of ground-penetrating munitions. The IAEA chief noted that visible craters at the Fordow facility indicate the use of such munitions. 'Currently, no one, including the IAEA, is capable of fully assessing the underground damage at Fordow,' Grossi stated. He also remarked that 'given the power of the explosives used and the extreme sensitivity of centrifuges to tremors, it is assumed that very serious damage has been caused.'
