No Armenians were recorded among the victims and injured in the terrorist attack that occurred on June 22 at the Greek Orthodox Mar Elias (St. Elijah) Church in Damascus. As reported by Armenpress, this was stated by the Aleppo-based newspaper 'Gandzasar'.

The leadership of the Berio diocese in Aleppo has strongly condemned the terrorist act at Mar Elias (St. Elijah) Church, which claimed numerous lives and caused injuries to dozens during Sunday prayers. 'This despicable attack, which was directed against the faithful, once again reveals the dark face of terrorism that does not distinguish between communities or churches and seeks to destabilize the region and disrupt the spirit of peaceful coexistence that has characterized the Syrians for centuries,' the statement said.

The attack took place during the evening mass at the church.
