Fruits in Truckloads Spoiling at Lars Due to Russian Actions

Today, starting from the early morning hours, a large quantity of fruits, including apricots, are spoiling in trucks at the Lars checkpoint due to Russian actions. The remaining Armenian drivers at the Lars checkpoint are sounding the alarm, expressing their frustration regarding the Russian side's operations. This was reported by SHAMSHYAN.com.

According to the drivers, they faced no issues at the Bagratashen checkpoint or the Georgian checkpoint, crossing the borders without obstacles. The artificial and intentional barriers have only been established by the Russian side, and for several days now, due to the obstacles created by Russian customs officials, fruits weighing tons in numerous trucks are spoiling.

In a conversation with a photojournalist, the drivers stated: “The Russians are sending the apricots back to Armenia, keeping us here for days. The fuel of the vehicles has run out, and they are not allowing any truck to come and refuel. It's an uncertain situation. They say a return must be made, but they also don’t provide the paperwork for the vehicles to go back. We are stuck here aimlessly, and there is no one to turn to.”

There are even trucks that have run out of fuel, which means that the refrigeration units in the trucks are no longer working. The drivers also mentioned that they demand the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to intervene and compel the Russian side to stop creating artificial obstacles.
