UN on US Attack Plans Against Iran
The UN Secretariat is not aware of whether the United States has informed the UN of its plans to strike Iran. This was stated by the spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, Stefan Dujarric, in response to an inquiry from RIA Novosti.
“We are not aware of such a notification,” Dujarric said.
It is noteworthy that the Iranian parliament has declared that Tehran was anticipating an attack on the Fordow nuclear facility and has proceeded to conduct evacuations. The nuclear facility has reportedly not sustained irreparable damage.
The country’s Atomic Energy Organization has stated that Tehran does not intend to halt the development of its nuclear industry.
The US attack has already provoked negative reactions from the international community. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has characterized this as a dangerous escalation in the region and a direct threat to international peace and security.
