Tragedy in Brazil: Hot Air Balloon Catches Fire and Crashes, Casualties Reported

A hot air balloon carrying 22 people has crashed in Brazil after catching fire in mid-air. At least eight people have died in the incident, as reported by ‘Metropolis’. It is noted that there are other casualties, but their exact number has yet to be confirmed.

The balloon was flying over Praia Grande, a city known as the 'capital of the cliffs' and the 'capital of airborne flights', when the accident occurred in Santa Catarina on the morning of June 21.

Footage has emerged on social media showing the hot air balloon engulfed in flames before it falls to the ground. The video captures the moment as the balloon burns in the sky, and then the basket crashes.

The causes of the fire remain unknown. Two passengers have been rescued, while others are still being searched for.
