Macron: Clear Guarantees Must Be Given, They Will Never Have It
French President Emmanuel Macron and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian have had a phone conversation. Macron announced this on the social media platform X.
According to Macron, in the conversation with Pezeshkian, he stated that Iran should not possess nuclear weapons, and his government is obligated to provide clear guarantees regarding the peaceful nature of its intentions.
“During the conversation with President Pezeshkian, I expressed serious concern regarding Iran's nuclear program. My position is clear: Iran must never have nuclear weapons, and it should prove the peaceful nature of its actions. I am convinced that there are ways to avoid escalation of conflict and to prevent more serious threats. To that end, France and its European partners must expedite negotiations with Iran,” wrote the French President.
