Trump Hesitates to Make Decision on Iran Military Action, NYP

U.S. President Donald Trump is postponing a final decision on military action against Iran, fearing that the situation in the country could spiral into chaos, similar to Libya. This was reported by The New York Post (NYP) citing sources.

According to the publication's informants, Trump has frequently referenced the events in Libya in 2011 as an undesirable scenario for the evolution of the Iran-Israel conflict. One source indicated that the president does not want to repeat the situation where U.S. military intervention led to the destabilization of the country and a regime change.

Furthermore, Trump has reportedly mentioned the examples of Iraq and Afghanistan, where military actions resulted in a prolonged U.S. presence and internal crises.

Just the day before, Fox News journalist Jackie Heinrich, referencing White House officials, reported that Washington is not ruling out the use of tactical nuclear weapons to strike Iran's underground uranium enrichment facility at Fordow.
