What Will Happen If Khamenei Is Assassinated

The Lebanese group Hezbollah has expressed support for Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in response to threats from Israeli and American leaders regarding his potential assassination, according to the Times of Israel.

Hezbollah warned that the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader would have “catastrophic consequences.” In a statement, the group declared, “The threats to assassinate Khamenei are foolish and reckless and will have disastrous repercussions. The very utterance of such threats is an insult to hundreds of millions of believers and all those associated with Islam, and is utterly condemnable. Today, we are more resolute and united around him.”

It is noteworthy that Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that he does not even want to discuss the possibility of Israel assassinating Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. “If you allow me, I hope this will be the most accurate answer to your question: ‘I do not even want to discuss such a possibility,’” he said in response to a question about how Russia would react if Israel were to kill the ayatollah.
