No Discussion on the Withdrawal of Russian Base from Armenia, Says Zakharova

The issue of withdrawing the Russian military base from Armenia has never been raised during bilateral discussions, said Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, during a press briefing.

She noted that Russia has a wide range of cooperation with Armenia. However, like any country, there are also problematic issues, including their own challenges and dramas. At the same time, there is regular dialogue ongoing through all departments that are somehow related to the subject of the base.

"In practical terms, this issue has never been raised; it has probably been discussed within the public and expert circles, but that is another matter. However, this topic has not been brought up in communications with Yerevan," she added.
