US Not Planning to Strike Iran, Says Pentagon Spokesman

The United States is not planning to strike Iran but will defend its interests in the region, stated Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell. This was reported by the Interfax news agency.

“American military personnel continue to take defensive positions, and that has not changed,” Parnell wrote on social media. “We will defend American forces and our interests.”

Earlier, Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth announced that the United States is deploying additional forces to the Middle East for defensive operations.

“Over the weekend, I ordered the deployment of additional aircraft carriers. At the same time, the United States has sent another carrier to the Middle East. A strike group of naval aviation, led by a nuclear aircraft carrier, is on its way to the region,” Fox News reported, citing a U.S. military source. “The ‘Nimitz’ aircraft carrier is moving to the region from the South China Sea.”

The aircraft carrier strike group, led by the ‘Carl Vinson’ nuclear aircraft carrier, is already in the Arabian Sea.
