India Begins Evacuating Citizens from Iran, Including to Armenia

India has started evacuating its citizens from dangerous areas in Iran due to heightened tensions between Israel and Iran. The Indian authorities are actively discussing evacuation options, which include Armenia among the possible routes.

This was reported by The Indian Express. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has confirmed that its citizens, including students, are being moved from Tehran to safer locations under the supervision of the Indian embassy.

Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar has spoken with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan to discuss logistical and diplomatic coordination regarding the evacuation.

The Indian embassy in Tehran has urged Indian citizens and those of Indian origin to stay at home, avoid unnecessary movements, and closely follow updates from official channels.

It is important to note that Iranian authorities have reported 224 casualties due to Israeli strikes, the majority of whom are civilians. Israel has reported 24 casualties from Iranian retaliatory strikes.
