Two Men Missing Following Explosion in Chambarak, Governor Reports

“Two men are missing. Search and rescue operations are underway by the emergency services partners. The entire building has been evacuated, and no one is in the building,” said Gegharkunik Governor Karen Sargsyan in an interview with the News reporter.

He reported that a working group has been created since 10 AM from the governor's office and the Chambarak municipality, which is conducting a needs assessment, including a preliminary estimate of how many families lived in the building, the number of family members, and their current and upcoming needs, so that their requirements can be addressed in an organized manner.

He also noted that if residents express their desire, it will be possible to address their housing needs in the coming days.

It is noteworthy that on June 11 at 08:34 AM, the crisis management center of the Gegharkunik regional rescue department received a notification about a fire that broke out in one of the apartments in a building on Garegin Nzhdeh Street in the city of Chambarak.

Additionally, according to the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, 12 residents of the building have sought medical assistance; one has been discharged, eight are receiving care at the Chambarak Medical Center, and three have been transferred to other hospitals.
