Iran Will Strike US Military Bases, Says Iranian Defense Minister
Ofelya
The Iranian Minister of Defense, Aziz Nasirzadeh, has announced that if nuclear negotiations fail and conflict arises with the United States, Iran will target American bases in the region, according to Reuters.
With mediation from Oman, Iran and the United States have held five rounds of negotiations—three in Muscat and two in Rome. The U.S. insists that Iran must completely cease all uranium enrichment activities.
Furthermore, Iran's diplomatic team has stated that the American proposal does not address three main issues: uranium enrichment activities within Iranian territory, the export of highly enriched uranium reserves outside the country, and specific actions required for the lifting of U.S. sanctions.
