Moscow Expects Similar from Baku: RIA Novosti
Russia expects that Azerbaijan will recognize the new Russian regions and Crimea. This was reported by RIA Novosti, referring to statements made by Vladimir Medinsky, an aide to the President of Russia, regarding Nagorno-Karabakh and the response from the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
Regarding Medinsky's statements on Nagorno-Karabakh and the response from Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry, it is expected in Moscow that, considering the allied nature of the relations between the Russian Federation and Azerbaijan, which is secured at a high level in the declaration of February 22, 2022, Baku will adopt a more balanced stance on the situation surrounding Ukraine. It is also anticipated that Azerbaijan will recognize the validity of Russian approaches concerning the ownership of Crimea, Sevastopol, the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR), Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.
“Just as Russia does not question Azerbaijan's sovereignty over Nagorno-Karabakh,” the agency wrote, citing an informed source.
It is worth noting that Azerbaijani media outlets have addressed this publication, calling it a manipulation.
