Either Doesn’t Understand or Doesn’t Want to Understand His Country’s Position: Haji-Zadeh

Unfortunately, the assistant to the President of Russia is comparing the Russian-Ukrainian war with the situation created in Nagorno-Karabakh. Such a comparison is inappropriate, as Azerbaijan has never violated the territorial integrity of any country nor waged an aggressive war against any state. This was stated by Ayhan Haji-Zadeh, the spokesperson for the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“At the same time, it is questionable whether the assistant of the President of the co-chair country of the Minsk Group either does not understand or does not want to understand his country’s position on this issue. In 2020 and 2023, Azerbaijan conducted a Patriotic War and counter-terrorism operations in its sovereign and internationally recognized territories. The 44-day Patriotic War and the counter-terrorism measures in 2023, which lasted less than a day, led to Azerbaijan's complete victory and Armenia's defeat, while the occupation of Armenia was ended in accordance with the norms and principles of international law.
