The Show is Over: Israel Seizes Charity Boat
Israeli forces have arrested a charity boat that attempted to breach the naval blockade of the Gaza Strip. Among the 12 crew members is activist Greta Thunberg, who was heading towards the Israeli port on Sunday.
The "Freedom Flotilla Coalition," which organized the journey, stated that the activists were “seized by Israeli forces” while trying to deliver vital aid to the region.
The vessel "Madlin" was sailing under a British flag. According to the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC), its purpose was to deliver symbolic aid to Gaza and draw international attention to the humanitarian crisis prevailing there.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry confirmed that the vessel is under Israeli control. “The ‘selfie boat’ of ‘famous people’ is safely moving towards the shores of Israel. The passengers will return to their countries,” the ministry wrote on X.
Later, the ministry added that all passengers are safe and secure. “They have been provided with sandwiches and water. The show is over.”
It should be noted that the yacht was carrying a small batch of humanitarian aid, including rice and baby food. The Foreign Ministry announced that the aid will be transferred to Gaza.
Additionally, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered the military to prevent the "Madlin" from reaching Gaza, labeling the mission as a propaganda effort supporting Hamas.
