Minasyan Denies Reports of Appointment as Social Affairs Minister

The head of the Civil Contract faction in Gyumri, Sarik Minasyan, denies the information circulating in the media about his appointment as the Minister of Social Affairs, amid reports that the current head of the department, Narek Mkrtchyan, will be assigned to the US ambassadorial position. Minasyan made the statement in an interview with 24News.

"I have announced that I will keep my mandate and serve the benefit of my city. If there is a type of work that I can combine with my duties as a council member, I will accept it," said Minasyan.

The media inquired whether an offer had been made, to which Minasyan responded that no offer had been made and that "he does not strive for a ministerial position."

It is noteworthy that Sarik Minasyan previously headed the Gyumri Territorial Center of the Unified Social Service under the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
