«Hayastan» Faction to Remain Committed to the Initiative: Seyran Ohanyan
The opposition ‘Hayastan’ faction member Seyran Ohanyan reaffirmed in an interview with Azatutyun that they will ensure the missing signatures of MPs to initiate the impeachment process in the National Assembly.
“The ‘Hayastan’ faction, remaining true to its earlier statement, reaffirms its readiness to secure the missing 28 signatures of MPs within a reasonable timeframe for initiating the impeachment process in the National Assembly. We are prepared for additional discussions with our colleagues from the ‘Honorary’ faction regarding these issues,” said Ohanyan.
After more than a month of active discussions on expressing a lack of confidence in Nikol Pashinyan, on June 6, the Republican Party led by Serzh Sargsyan proposed the ‘Honorary’ faction, composed of 4 members and two non-partisan members, to nominate a candidate. The ‘Honorary’ faction published the name of the candidate—David Hambardzumyan, the Mayor of Masis.
