Greta Thunberg Accuses Israeli Authorities
Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg has accused Israeli authorities of kidnapping her. She made this statement in a video released on the social media platform X by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition.
According to Thunberg, the vessel 'Madeline', which belongs to the coalition, was stopped in international waters by forces acting on behalf of Israel or directly from Israel.
“I am calling on all my friends, family, and supporters to put pressure on the Swedish government to free me and the others as soon as possible,” the eco-activist stated.
Israeli military personnel checked and detained the 'Madeline', which was heading towards the Gaza Strip as part of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition. There were 12 activists on board, including Thunberg, as well as citizens from France, Turkey, Brazil, and Sweden. Coalition officials stated that the ship was stopped in international waters, and several volunteers were 'kidnapped'. Among those detained were Thunberg, French activists Réva Viard and Yanis Mamdine, Turkish Suayb Ordun, and Brazilian Tiago Avila.
