Citizens Hold Anti-Russian Protest with Banners

Citizens are expressing their protests with anti-Russian banners and flags of Armenia and the EU in front of the National Assembly. The demonstration is connected to the visit of Valentina Matviyenko, the Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.

Currently, the delegation led by Matviyenko is meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian.

The Deputy Chief of Police, Karen Hakobyan, urged the protesters to move away from the gates, where police are conducting their duties. In response, the protesters threatened, stating, “Leave! Don’t interfere. Don’t force us to block the street.”

Earlier, it was reported that police forces are operating in an enhanced capacity in front of the National Assembly building.
