Citizens in Russia to Be Fined for Filming Such Videos
Citizens in twelve regions of Russia may face fines for posting the aftermath of Ukrainian drone attacks, as reported by Kommersant. However, this law is not yet in effect in most regions.
Officially, a ban has been imposed on filming and disseminating drone attack incidents in the Astrakhan, Vladimir, Volgograd, Ivanovo, Kursk, Leningrad, and Tver regions, as well as in Adygea, Kalmykia, and Saint Petersburg.
Previously, there was no federal prohibition on photographing or publicizing drone attacks. In 2023, a group of Russian senators drafted a package of amendments aimed at imposing administrative and criminal liability for disseminating military-related information, including drone footage.
