Alen Simonian Approved the Attorney General's Request
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian, has given his approval for the request of the Attorney General, Anna Vardapetyan, to initiate criminal proceedings against Seyran Ohanyan and Artsvik Minasyan. This was reported by the press secretary of the National Assembly Speaker, Movses Harutyunyan, to Auroranews.
It should be noted that the issue will be included in the upcoming four-day session.
According to ArmLur.am, the prosecutor has submitted a 68-page indictment concerning Artsvik Minasyan, who previously served as the Minister of Environment. The indictment alleges that Minasyan abused his official position as minister, allowing the construction of a villa for former Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan on the shores of Lake Sevan in the village of Drahktik, next to the villa of former police chief Vladimir Gasparyan.
Additionally, Attorney General Anna Vardapetyan has submitted a request to National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonian, asking the parliament to permit public criminal proceedings against Seyran Ohanyan, the leader of the National Assembly’s “Armenia” faction, and Artsvik Minasyan, the secretary of the same faction.
