The Spiritual Leaders of the Church Have No More Buyers: Konyaryan

Garegin B and the former criminal leaders of Armenia share the common interest of keeping the Armenian people as legally powerless subjects, as this allows them to exploit the populace both physically and spiritually, something they have done for decades. This was stated by Hayk Konyaryan, the head of the 'Civil Contract' parliamentary group, on his Facebook page.

'This has been a simple political barter: the bandits have granted Garegin and his circle financial privileges and have turned a blind eye to the transactions taking place under the table. In return, Garegin has sanctified the illegal presidents with the Church's public legitimacy. You give me money and concessions, and I give you legitimacy. Now that the people have liberated themselves from the chains of subjugation, there are no more objects for the criminal alliance to exploit. On the other hand, there is a legitimate power in Armenia, whose legitimacy comes solely from the people.'

'This is why the spiritual leaders of the Church cannot find their place in democratic Armenia. Their goods have no buyers anymore, as neither the authorities are illegal nor the people are subjects. Power in Armenia belongs to the people. The sooner the holy fathers understand this, the less legitimacy they will lose in spiritual leadership,' Konyaryan wrote.
