Putin is Attempting to Restore the Soviet Union, Zelensky Says

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin is striving for the impossible—the restoration of the Soviet Union, as reported by RBC-Ukraine.

In response to a journalist's question about whether he believes that Russians do not wish to end the war, Zelensky remarked: "Because there is no pressure on them. Putin wants to restore the power of the Soviet Union. That is impossible, but I am not sure if there are people who can explain that to him. And he will attempt to do it anyway. I am convinced that to achieve his goal, he must do it primarily through Ukraine, as Ukraine is the largest country in the Soviet Union after Russia," he stated.
