Torosyan: Will Exit the Hall as a Political Corpse

National Assembly deputy and chair of the Health Committee, Arsen Torosyan, made a statement: “The liberator's plan. The satellite parties of the Republican Party are launching the thesis of the Prime Minister's impeachment, for which they do not even have enough signatures to start the process, including with the ‘Armenia’ alliance.

After some prevarication, they will loudly nominate a candidate who can reach the podium of the National Assembly only if he gathers 36 signatures (6 from ‘I Have Honor’ + 28 from ‘Armenia’ + 2 independent deputies, for example, Aghazaryan and Aslanyan). The candidate is a political ‘titan’, Masis community head David Hambardzumyan, who is also the son-in-law of Arshak, the head of Vova Gasparyan’s cell.

With almost zero chance of reaching the podium, Hambardzumyan will exit the hall as a political corpse; however, they don’t need that. They aim to create a PR campaign around this ‘corpse’ process, which seeks to promote probable candidates on their list ahead of the 2026 parliamentary elections. Meanwhile, other satellites of the Republican Party will join David Hambardzumyan in a grand manner to supposedly showcase their movement gaining momentum, even though all the joiners have been together for a long time.

By engaging ‘new’ faces and promoting them, the Republican Party hopes to finally overcome the parliamentary threshold, which they failed to do in 2018 and 2021. It won’t work this time either, boys and girls; find something else to do.
