My abductors were Chechens. They took me out of the city, subjected me to torture, and interrogated me. This was recounted by businessman Areg Shchepikhin, who was abducted in Moscow.

The authorities in Chechnya accused him of insulting Muslims, their religion, and dignity, as well as making extremist calls.
