Iran Will Never Agree to This: Iranian Foreign Ministry
Iran is not willing to consider temporarily halting uranium enrichment for the sake of reaching an agreement with the United States, said the official representative of the Islamic Republic’s Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baghaei, at a press conference in Tehran today, according to Iranian media reports.
Commenting on reports circulating in the Western press that Tehran might suspend uranium enrichment for three years in exchange for a deal with Washington, Baghaei stated, "Iran will never agree to this."
The foreign ministry spokesperson also mentioned that the schedule and location for the next, sixth round of negotiations with the U.S. have not yet been clarified.
Additionally, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the day before that progress has been made in nuclear negotiations with Iran, hinting that an announcement of "something good" might come in "the next couple of days," without providing details.
