Driver Flees After Accident: Students Were on Excursion with Their Teacher

In Tsakghkadzor, the girls who tragically died as a result of an ATV accident were students at Yerevan's Number 29 High School, and they were on an excursion with their class teacher that day. According to NEWS.am, parents also accompanied the class. The incident occurred near a church.

Four 10th-grade students decided to ride the quad, with an instructor behind the wheel. Witnessing parents wrote on social media that the instructor exceeded the speed limit, resulting in the ATV overturning, after which the driver fled the scene.

It is noted that on May 24, around 11:30 AM, a self-accident involving a four-wheeler occurred on V. Harutyunyan Street in Tsakghkadzor. The four passengers were taken to the 'Hrazdan' medical center, which then alerted the police department. Of the four individuals transported to the medical center, two girls, born in 2009, unfortunately, succumbed to their injuries.

The Investigative Committee announced that a criminal case has been initiated under part 4 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code concerning the overturning of the quad (ATV), which was committed by a person who was intoxicated or did not have the right to operate the respective vehicle. One individual has been arrested.
